Wunjo Guitars - Denmark Street, London
Wunjos is the most well rounded shop on Denmark street; they have a great selection of electric and acoustic guitars from Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, Martin and Guild. Not missing many big names at all. Everyone is always friendly and know their stuff when you ask a hard question.
My favourite part of the shop is the the acoustic room (below) in the back which is filled with...

Rockers - Denmark Street, London
Rockers is one of my favourite shops in Denmark Street, they have loads of high-gain gear and they were also the only place with a Jim Root Telecaster which is the reason Jarrad and I had made the journey into town.

The Olde Town Pickin' Parlor - Arvada, Colorado
When I was back home in Colorado visiting friends and family in February I took the opportunity to visit one of the independent guitar shops. This is the Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor in Olde Town Arvada. It is a gem of a shop with lovely relaxed and open vibe you would be hard pressed to find back in London. The instruments they have on the wall are absolutely beautiful, well worth popping in...

Angel Music - Denmark Street, London
After being buzzed in from the street and climbing a flight of stairs you are met with the door, above which leads to one of the best music shops in Tin Pan Alley. If you can imagine your front room packed so heavily with vintage guitars that you can hardly move or have anyone around then you know what its like in Angel Music.
Gear used: Canon EOS Rebel G and Sigma 50mm EX 1.4 loaded...

The walk-in camera
Tuesday was a good day: the latest issue of National Geographic dropped through my letterbox, which always means I’ll be spending the evening immersed in their superb photographs and articles.
This month a piece titled Rooms With a View features photographer Abelardo Morell really captured my imagination. He has been taking photographs I can only describe as a clever mix between...

The Print Space - Giclee Hahnemühle Photo Rag...
My wife and I have had a few photos printed this month as Christmas gifts and I thought I would post our experiences as well as keep track of the print types we prefer in a series.
My wife took the photo (above) while in Copenhagen with a good friend, who the gift is for. We love giving photos as gifts because you are really giving a feeling or memory especially if it is a moment you shared...

Jhonny Roadhouse Music- Manchester
I had just enough time to head over to Jhonny Roadhouse Music before heading home and I am really glad I did.
Jhonny Roadhouse is owned and run by the same family that started over fifty years ago by Jhonny “The Sax” Roadhouse which makes it a great place to go for advice as well as some new gear. The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a shop that has been around as...

Dawsons Music - Manchester
Picking up from last time I headed over to Dawsons after spotting it on the way to dinner the night before.
Everyone is very friendly inside this super clean shop, there were not to many customers about on a Monday afternoon but you can imagine it packed on the weekends. They have a huge range of Fender, Gibson and Epiphone electric’s along the back wall which is quite impressive; though...

Chase Music - Manchester
It is no secret that I love to visit guitar shops; especially the wonderful little independent ones. There is something about the atmosphere of a rough, cramped shop like this that makes them so appealing to me. It must be the collector mentality like a DJ looking for rare vinyl every week in the same bins. (which they are not short of in Manchester either) You just never know what amazing guitar...

tomzittel asked: Thank you for your resources page, it’s great! I have been looking for a list of processing labs for a long time and think I’ll go to DigitalLab.co.uk from now on.
You’re welcome! I’m glad it’s helpful :) I use Digitalab.co.uk all of the time, especially for prints for my professional book. I just ordered 10 more, and the total was 15 pounds (so...

lushlondon asked: You have some great photos.
You are the first person who's work I have seen from the photowalk and was very surprised to see that I am in one. It was a great evening.

Photo Walk with Trey Ratcliff
On Friday I tagged along for a photo walk that Trey Ratcliff, famed HDR and travel photographer, was leading though central London before his weekend workshop. I thought it would be a good opportunity to take some photos and meet some photographers.
There ended up being about 50 people hanging around The National Theatre when I got there around 6, I had no idea the amount of people Trey could...

Watch, Listen, Tell
dave tree is either very lucky or quite a forward thinking chap. he and his partner ben axtell have been shooting brilliantly intimate acoustic performances for the last two years with up and coming musicians for their project watch, listen, tell. many of those acts have gone on to become quite successful.
the first thing you get from these videos is a the feeling that you are watching something...
